Local Car Dealers:
How to Win When
You Buy from Them

Local car dealers want to make real good money when they sell you a car. You want to save real good money when you buy a car.

I want to show you how to level the playing field with car dealers and get a much better deal. (Don’t worry about the dealers they are pro’s at what they do and don’t need any help.)

Get the right
car buying game plan with an
EXPRESS PASS

When it comes to buying an automobile sometimes knowing WHAT to negotiate is as important as HOW to negotiate.

Be sure to focus on the following 5 areas that I call your "Express Pass" when dealing with local car dealers. Doing this will enable you to better avoid problems, misunderstandings and the pain of over paying.

The five big areas of your
car buying
EXPRESS PASS

  1. Price of new car and trade - Ask for both numbers in writing before you even get close to doing any paper work. Make sure a manager approved both numbers.

Some dealerships say one thing but when you get to signing the paper work things somehow get changed and suddenly there is “manufactured confusion” about what was actually said.

  2. Financing terms - Get the payment, down payment, rate, credit approval, and term of loan in writing up front. Make sure a manager approved this part too.

This is where you can really get “high grossed” (pay extra) with some dealerships who like to play the changing numbers and misunderstanding games. There are a lot of numbers to play with in this part so get them in writing.

  3. Right vehicle - Make sure the VIN # of the vehicle you selected and test drove is the one you are purchasing.

Some shady dealers will switch vehicles on you for a “similar vehicle” at the last minute and not tell you. They do this for a variety of reasons. With the VIN # you are protected.

  4. Paper work delivery time limit - If time is money this can cost you big time. Ask for an appointment on your delivery time and a commitment on how long it will take.

JD Powers & Associates report customers have to wait and average of 32 minutes just to start the paperwork process. For some people the “wait time” is well over an hour. Your time is valuable. You are the customer. Get a time agreement in writing.

  5. Vehicle ready - Get a commitment the vehicle you are buying will be cleaned inside and out with a full tank of gas when you arrive to pick it up.

It’s frustrating driving you new car home dirty and almost on empty. It’s also annoying to have to wait another 30 minutes to an hour while they "find someone" to wash your new car and take it to the gas station.

Use the above Express Pass guide when purchasing your next new or used vehicle to help avoid paying a lot of extra time and money.
